Context
Nuvocargo’s 4PL (Fourth Party Logistics) customers had access to the Control Tower, an external-facing platform that surfaced data from the TMS so customers could see the status of their freight.
Problem
As the growth strategy shifted toward 4PL accounts, the Control Tower became a key resource for attracting new customers and increasing the satisfaction of existing ones.
Process
I began the redesign by conducting research with internal stakeholders and with people at different levels on the customers’ side. This helped me understand what shippers in this segment valued most from their logistics providers:
- Visibility into their loads and daily operations
- Insights into their service performance and freight spend
Solution
I used our tech stack and agentic coding to prototype the new front end of the Control Tower. The redesign gave shippers clear visibility into their active loads, with a new drawer component to preview each load’s details. They could also see historical data for each lane, with AI-generated insights to help them improve service performance and optimize freight spend.
On this project I partnered with members of the C-suite. My output was a code branch with every design decision built in, using AI to eliminate the design-to-engineering handoff.
Outcome
The redesign drove higher engagement from existing customers and generated interest from prospects.
